What is Human Resource?

In current marketplace Human Resources (HR) plays leading role for a company. In company Human Resource Department called as HR Department & it performs Human Resource Management (HRM). HRM means strategic approach of organize the people in effective & efficient way to gain the business requirement in competitive marketplace.                                                            

Why Company/Organization need HR Department?

It has become a major challenge for companies to find right people for right position in right time now a days. There will be lot of applications for one position when advertise, but in practical scenario recruit people does not perform when do the assigned job. Therefore, it is much more important to find right person always. Other than the recruitments HR Department has much more other activities/responsibilities.

  • Retrain the People

In organization it is more important to keep the people who works rather than recruiting new people who collaborate with company long time are assets to the company, as they know in and out of the company processes, culture & systems, which always helpful to perform job in efficient & effective way. HR needs to play leading role here to understand its workers workload & they need to collaborate with relevant teams to minimize the stress of workers by give correct workload & moreover HR needs to create great workplace for its workers.           

  • Skill Training & Personal Development  

HR needs to carryout require training sessions for employees in orders to perform their assigned works. In any organization employee to employee knowledge & understanding level is different & it directly affect to their job rolls. HR has responsibility get on with other departments & identify employees who needs extra/additional training to perform their work effectively & efficiently & arrange relevant training programs. Also, HR responsibility to develop their employee’s knowledge, attitude & behavior, which will help them to improve the employee standards & also help them to take more responsibilities & move up thru their career path.

  • Payroll

Another main function of HR is managing the payroll of company effective way. It is must that employees expecting their monthly salary on month end, or the date fixed in month base on company policy & HR must need to update all attendance, leave approvals on time, and run the payroll on time to prepare the salaries in prompt manner. Sometimes HR department send reminders to employees with inform to regularize the attendance in case if they missed to do.

  • Goal Settings                                                             

Setting goals to workers with engage with relevant teams based on their assign job rolls is another key element of HR. it is must that employees understand their KPI’s, which will help them to drive their work towards what company expect from them. HR must need to take in front of this process to set up goals with align to company targets & distribute with departments.

  • Performance Analysis & Benefits

Analysis the performance of works every year end thru appraisal forms & suggest increments, bonus schemes is another major responsibility of HR department. Employees expecting promotions, salary hike and other benefits every yearend & it is one of major motivation factor of them. HR department must run this process every year end & also their responsibility to find potential employees, who can push to next level of the company with help of relevant department heads & nominate for promotions. Also, carryout require promotions interviews, tests prompt manner. Some companies do appraisal analysis every quarter of the year and talk to employees to improve their works & also appreciate their work.

  • Welfare

Look after welfare of employees also another mail activity of HR department, arranging inbound & outbound events, fun activities will help to minimize the work stress of employees & this is one of another activity of HR department & it helps to keep employees happy & fresh in workplace.

Conclusion

With consider all above responsibilities & activities, its understand that HR department of the company is more vital department to company and team of energetic, dynamic & creative HR team will be competitive advantage to a company to run sustainable business module to achieve company goals & targets in challenging environment.

  2. According to your topic Human Resource is actually more than recruiting people because recruitment is only one aspect in Human resource management.
