Job satisfaction is a measure of workers willingness to do their job. Job satisfaction come with multiple facts, such as salary, autonomy, communication, working environment & organization commitment. An important aspect of job satisfaction is when people need to make choice that where they want to work, if they happy with their current job, it influences them to stay in current place rather than move out (Singh, 2016).  

Effects of Dissatisfied Employee

Dissatisfied employee can make huge damage to organization & that will directly affect the bottom-line of the organization.

Lack of Motivation – When employee is dissatisfied, he loses the interest to perform the job role. When the job does not do in proper way person get highlight to management & there will be bad comments on him & that will demotivate the person.

Poor Performance – When person get demotivate, it directly effects to his job performance & will get negative performance.

Process Negative Attitude – Unsatisfied employee always hate to his job & organization, which will create negative thought on organization & he/she will express same feelings to other co-workers & subordinates of the team, which may lead to demotivate other employees.

High Labor Turnover – Employees tend to leave their jobs & organization will lose experience teams to conduct day to day works & this will be result of customer complains & dissatisfaction on organization. This can lead to lose the customers even.


Factors that Employees can get Dissatisfied & how HR can Involve Avoiding  

Being or Feel Underpaid

One of main reason that employees can get dissatisfied on their job/organization. Employees in same layer with equal experience sometime get treat by organization in diverse ways & also high salary gap, can create dissatisfaction on employee. By setup clear slabs of packages for every layer of organization this can be minimize the dissatisfaction. Also, it is HR responsibility to give the equal facilities to employees who are in same layer. Especially when employee get promotes for next layer, HR must make sure that organization arrange the entitled facilities for new capacity without delay (Johnson, 2018).

Having Poor Management

Organization manage by poor management team can be cause for employee satisfaction. This leads to create uncertainty of jobs as well as poor job security in employee’s mind. People has no faith on company future. By having strong and close relationship with employees HR can understand what employees’ mindset on organization & what they talk about it. HR must build trust on employees about HR functions & feels them that HR with employees always. Such confident will help to employees express their idea to HR & that can take forward with directors/ relevant top management and take necessary actions to improve areas of organization management decisions & actions (Johnson, 2018).

Limited Career Growth

When employees feel that they stuck on their job rolls and there is no growth path to them in career life they get demotivated & unsatisfied in their jobs. It is vital that HR recognized potential strength of employees and have them long term growth plan. Promote the employees where possible & enhance their titles will be helping to overcome this situation. By giving them more responsibilities, changing job rolls also will help to overcome this, as some employees get stress by doing same kind of work over & over years (Johnson, 2018).

Management not Being Heard

Communication is one of key factor of employee satisfaction. If employees feel that management doesn’t hear on their ideas, suggestions they can get unsatisfied on their work. Especially when management work like autocratic leader’s employee feel frustration. It is always healthy to organization that they have open culture, that employees can reach their top management always & share their ideas & suggestions. In most of the cases employees has better ideas & suggestions than the top management, as they directly work with down the line teams. Knowing that management values their ideas, suggestions & management willing to evaluate & implement those, will be healthier than offer higher salary packages (Johnson, 2018).

It is understood that employee satisfaction is one of key element of a success business module. Happy employees never give up their responsibilities & they may go beyond their job roles to serve to organization. Which will help always to show growth of the organization & meet their targets & goals and this will lead to motivate other co-workers, subordinates to perform their job roles, as people can see the company look after them well that will create loyalty towards the organization, which trend to focus on their duties and KPIs to meet company goals.
