Training & development is one of key function of human resources department. it is continuous process that employees improve skill, gain knowledge & change attitudes by panned & structured education & this will improve employee performance as well as this will benefit organization by improve production through competitive workforce (mba SKOOL, 2021).

Training will help employees to gain technical knowledge related to their jobs & this will help them to observe & analyses & take corrective actions in efficient way & this will improve the productivity of company (toppr, n.d.).

Development refers to educational growth of people in managerial positions. Development is in relation to attitude, adaptability, insight, leadership & human relations. (toppr, n.d.).

Training & development is continuous process that organization must arrange for their employees to keep improve their skills & knowledge in rapidly changing business environment. Effective training & development programs will improve employee’s skills as well as develop their personal lifestyles (mba SKOOL, 2021). Steps of training & development process,

Identify Requirement of Training & Development  

First organization must identify what are the areas that they need to have training & development of their employees and need to identify the potential employees that need to go thru the program. Program must align with organizations goals & objectives as well as company values (mba SKOOL, 2021).

Established Goals & Objectives

Must need to specify the goals & objectives that organization expect gain & improve by the program (mba SKOOL, 2021).

Select Training Methods

Need to identify effective method of training & develop based on the objectives & goals. That can be,

  • Classroom training
  • Out bound training
  • Online training
  • Cause with certificate

Implement the Program

Once decide the method of training, need to execute the program. Here you need to find time slot which will least impact for organization work process as well as employee personal lifestyle (mba SKOOL, 2021).

Evaluate

Upon the program execute, it is necessary to have proper monitoring system of the program, this can do by evaluate the instructor as well as attendees. Instructor can evaluate by carryout feedback and rating sheets & attendees can evaluate thru internal & external projects.

Keep Monitoring & Evaluate

It is must that organization have clear track of attendee’s contribution to their duties after training & development programs as to make sure that they have enough knowledge & skill gain thru the program or need to conduct more training.

Career Competencies: Training will help to improve the skill of employee & development will gain their knowledge and improve the lifestyle. This improves employee’s confidence to do the work what he/she does more effective & efficient way (Jehanzeb, 2013).

Employee Performance: When employee has adequate skills and knowledge to do their job, which will improve the performance of employee on his/her tasks. Also, their work will be more effective & efficient (Jehanzeb, 2013).

Employee Satisfaction: When employee perform on his/her duties effective & efficient way, which will improve the productivity of the organization. Management will identify employees perform well & they get benefit by the management by many ways, such as salary hike, promotions, extra bonus schemes & extra benefits. This improves employee satisfaction (Jehanzeb, 2013).

Benefits to Organization

Employee Retention: Employee satisfaction is one of key element that bring down the labor turnover. When employee gain enough skill to perform the job and as well when the organization look after them well, that will create employee loyalty on organization & they desired to stay with the organization long term (Jehanzeb, 2013).

Organization Performance: Less labor turn will always improve the efficiency & productivity of the company. Experience employees is competitive advantage to the company.

Market Growth: With continuous performance, customers & consumers will tend to believe the quality, values & the service of the organization & that will increase the market growth of the organization & improve its profitability.

As discuss above it is necessary to have effective training & development programs for employees continuously to improve their skills & develop them to next stage of the business leadership, which will help to improve employee as well as benefit to the organization. HR department must play significant role here to plan effective programs with aligned to company/department goals, objectives & values.
